Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems : 1.

The Contact Owns A 2012 toyota camry Se. The Contact Stated That Driving At Various Speeds And Rapidly Accelerating, The Vehicle Stalled. The Contact Also Stated That The Failure Recurred Intermittently. The Vehicle Was Taken To The Dealer Who Stated The Vehicle Was Down Shifting And Hesitating But There Was No Failure. The Manufacturer Was Notified Who Informed The Dealer That There Was A Problem With The Vehicle. The Failure Mileage Was 5,700. Mah The Consumer Found At Low Speed It Became Necessary To Accelerate Rapidly, Due To The Fact, When The Accelerator Pedal Was Depressed Down Rapidly There Would Be Absolutely No Response As If The Engine Cut Off. If The Consumer Released The Pedal And Depressed It Again At A Progressively Slower Rate, The Engine Would Respond Accordingly. The Dealer Stated It Was Normal. The Dealer Explained The Hesitation Was Due To The Vehicle Trying To Down Shift. The Consumer Believed The Fuel Injection Sensor Lacked The Capacity To Adequately Receive Or Transmit A Signal To The Fuel Injectors Under Rapid Acceleration. There Was No Engine Response, Until The Consumer Literally Released And Depressed The Gas Pedal Again. Updated 03/12/13 The Consumer Stated The traction Control System Was The Cause Of The Problem. The traction System Controlled Braking Force And Engine Output To The Drive Wheel When The Sensor Detected A Wheel Spin During Acceleration Or Cornering. Updated 03/19/13 The Consumer Stated Another Dealer Confirmed His Problem And The Cause. The Dealer Stated The traction Control System Was Cutting Power To The Engine. Even With Turning And Acceleration, The traction System Would Cut Power To The Engine. The Dealer Informed The Consumer There Was Nothing They Could Do To Address The Issue. Updated 04/03/13

2008 Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems & defects.

Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems : 1.

Safety Issue With My 2008 toyota camry Hybrid I Have 2008 toyota camry Hybrid. It Is Extremely Unstable On Snow. The Car Skid A Lot On Snow And Brakes Are Not Very Efficient On Snow. My Car Has Skidded Several Times And I Am Worried About Me And My Family’s Safety. I Reported The Matter To toyota On Their Website On Nov. 26, 2009. toyota Responded Back On Dec. 3rd Via Email Saying That They Have Opened A File (#0912105992/ Incident: 091126-000277) And A Case Manager Will Contact Me. Till Date No One Has Contacted Me. I Spoke To Go toyota, Centennial Colorado Based toyota Dealer Personnel And He Said I Should Pursue The Matter Directly With toyota. He Acknowledged That They Have Received Complaints About Poor Performance Of toyota‘s Hybrids In Snow. I Am Really Upset About toyota‘s Handling Of The Case As No One Has Contacted Me So Far. In Fact They Were Quick Enough To Even Send Me A Customer Satisfaction Survey On How Was Their Response Without Even Contacting Me. To Be On The Safer Side I Changed My Tires With High Quality Michelin Tires. The Oem Bridgestone Tires Were Very Poor On Snow From Day One Of My Purchase Of camry Hybrid. On Nov. 22, 2009 While I Was Traveling With My Family I Had A Narrow Escape When My camry Skidded And Hit The Sidewalk. At That Time It Had Barely Started Snowing With Less Than 1 Inch Of Snow On The Ground. The Car Could Not Even Climb A Small Slope On The Road While Other Cars Were Passing By Without Any Problems. This Incident Has Made Me Nervous About Driving My Car On Snow. After Tire Change The Stability Has Improved But I Still Feel That Braking And Stability Is Big Issue With toyota camry Hybrid. This Model Is Not Mentioned In Current Recalls But I Would Request Nhtsa To Investigate The Stability Of toyota Hybrids On The Snow. – Best Regards. *tr

2007 Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems & defects.

Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems : 3.

My 2007 toyota camry Is Dangerous And Defective. I Have Being Saying Since My First Maintenance Check At The Dealer That The Car Doesn’t Seem To Be Working The Way It Should. Now It Has Been Recalled For A “sticky Pedal”. The Problems I Have Are Not A Sticky Pedal Problem. The Car Lurches At Times When Accelerating. It Lurches Forward From Stops. I Have Already Hit A Curb Because Of It Just A Couple Of Weeks Ago. I Have Video Footage Of The Road And The Damage To The Car From Hitting The Curb. I Can Email You The Video Footage. The Car Also Seems To Drift Momentarily As If There Is A Steering Synchronization Lapse Defect. When I Mentioned These Both To The Dealer A Year Ago, The Dealer’s Service Tech Said It Was Just The Safety Feature Of The Car Working Properly. There Are Split Seconds When The Steering Wheel Does Not Control The Car While It Is Driving. This All Seems To Happen Randomly. I Wonder If toyota Programmed The Car To Do This On Purpose To Increase The Number Of Times I Would Need To Have The Car Serviced. The Dealership Has So Far Refused To Take The Car Back And Cancel My Lease. So I Am Still Driving This Unpredictable Car Every Day. There Is Something Wrong With This Car. *tr

On Feb 10, 2010 My 07 toyota camry Accel Pedal Stuck On Me, 5 Days After The Recall Was Done On It. It Revved From 2000-4000 Rpms, I Had To Brake Hard For It To Stop And Regain Control. Took It Into toyota, They Looked At It, Returned The Car And Told Me “nothing Was Wrong.” On March 4, 2010 It Happened Again, This Time It Accelerated From 20 Mph To 40 Mph In A Split Second, And I Almost Hit The Car In Front Of Me. Again I Had Brake Hard To Gain Control Of My Vehicle. toyota Again Looked Over My Car, And Again Came Up With Nothing Wrong With My Car. So That Is Two Times After The Recall Was Completed That My Has Accelerated. It Also Did Accelerate Before The Recall. *tr

2004 Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems & defects.

Toyota CAMRY Traction Control System problems : 1.

I Was Driving On Nj Parkway South At Approximately 55mph In The Left Lane. Suddenly The Car Had No traction And Went Out Of Control. I Applied Brakes To Slow It Down And Tried To Bring It Under Control. The Car Swerved To The Right Into The Next Lane, Then Turned Left Onto The Shoulder , Back Onto The Highway (second Lane From The Left) And Eventually Stopped Facing Traffic Coming South. It Had Been Raining Since The Previous Night, But The Rain Was Light. I Took The Car To My Usually Repair Shop. They Did A System Computer Scan, Resulting In Several Pages Of Output Which I Took To toyota Service Station. They Were Not Able To Interpret The Printed Scan. They Performed Their Own Scan And Told Me The Output Did Not Show Anything Wrong With The Car. The Only Explanation They Could Give Me Was An Oil Slick Or A Pebble On The Road And Emphasized That The traction Control Works Only At Less Than 5mph. I Contacted toyota Corporate Customer Relations Desk. They Arranged For Me To Take The Car Back To The Local Dealership For Further Inspection. *tr
